Polyethylene, Oxidised (OPE) and polyethylene (PE) were blended by polymerisation to prepare a novel PE/OPE blend. The concentration of OPE in the PE/OPE blends was increased from 0% to 50%, and the melt temperature was reduced from 123°C to 119°C, with a consequent decrease in thermal stability.OPE was present in the PE lamellae, and the thickness of the lamellae decreased with an increase in OPE inclusions, leading to an increase in brittleness.?? ??
