Des(ethylphenyl-3-methoxy)-2-formylsarpogrelate is an impurity of Sarpogrelate (S142300), a potent and selective 5-HT2A receptor antagonist and is used as an antiplatelet agent. It has been reported to increase erythrocyte deformability and suppress shear stress-induced hemolysis.
