I型原膠原C端前肽(PICP)是由COL1A1基因編碼的，它是纖維狀膠原蛋白，是軟骨和大多數(shù)結(jié)締組織中的I型膠原蛋白的主要成分。它是一個由兩條α1鏈（PICPα1）和一條α2鏈（PICPα2）組成的異源三聚糖蛋白。PICPα1和PICPα2在HEK293F細(xì)胞中共同表達(dá)，產(chǎn)生了正確組裝的異源三聚體形式的功能性PICP。
