Allgemeine Beschreibung
Norelgestromin, (17α)-13ethyl-17-hydroxy-18,19-dinor-pregn-4-en-20-yn-3-one, oxime, isthe progestin component in the contraceptive patch (Ortho-Evra). First-pass metabolism in the liver is avoided by thetransdermal application. Hepatic metabolism does occur,however, and norgestrel, an active metabolite, and other hydroxylatedand conjugated metabolites are formed.
