In concentrated sulfuric acid to purple, dilution after pink. Dye aqueous solution and concentrated hydrochloric acid to red; Crowding sodium hydroxide solution for purple. Mainly used for wool fabric dyeing, also can be used for silk, nylon post-mordant dyeing.
