Beschreibung
This alkaloid has been isolated from the yellow stem bark of Pleiocarpa mutica
Benth and crystallizes as long yellow needles from MeOH. The ultraviolet spec_x0002_trum has absorption maxima at 259, 282, 321 and 387 mJ.1. Hydrogenation in
the presence of Pd yields the amorphous tetrahydro derivative which, with AC20
in pyridine, gives the acetyltetrahydro compound, also amorphous.
