Application
Dodecaethylene glycol (CAS 6790-09-6, abbreviated as DEG) is a long-chain molecule rich in polar oxygen atoms. It is used to pre-treat the three-layer mesoporous scaffold of printable mesoscopic perovskite solar cells (p-MPSCs) in order to enhance device performance. DEG treatment of the scaffold optimises the wetting sequence between the three layers by improving the wettability of the TiO? surface, thereby promoting preferential crystallisation of the perovskite in the bottom TiO? layer. Furthermore, the DEG layer effectively buffers residual strain and suppresses harmful defects at the interface. Consequently, the p-MPSC with an optimised interface achieved a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 20.27% and retained over 92% of its initial PCE after 500 hours of continuous operation under maximum power point tracking conditions [2].
