Beschreibung

An amorphous minor alkaloid obtained from Erythrophleurn guineense, this base has [α] ²⁰ _D- 71.9° (c 0.44, EtOH). The structure has been determined from the infrared, NMR and mass spectra. Oxidation with chromic acid yields the dehydro-compound (q.v.) which also occurs naturally.
