It is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of 13,14-dihydro-15-keto PGF_2α by GC- or LC-mass spectrometry. 13,14-dihydro-15-keto PGF_2α is the first prominent plasma metabolite of PGF_2α in the 15-hydroxy PGDH pathway. Measurement of 13,14-dihydro-15-keto PGF_2α in plasma can be used as a marker of the in vivo production of PGF_2α.
