Chemische Eigenschaften
Potassium pyrosulphate, also known as potassium disulfate, appears as colorless needles or as a white crystalline powder or fused pieces. It is soluble in water, converting to potassium bisulfate. Specifically, it dissolves in cold water but decomposes in hot water to form potassium sulfate. It melts below 300?°C and decomposes at higher temperatures. This compound exhibits strong oxidizing properties and can form sulfates through eutectic fusion with certain metal oxides that are insoluble in water and acids.
