Beschreibung
An aconine alkaloid, acomonine occurs in the roots of Aconitum monticola. It
forms colourless needles when recrystallized from EtOH and has the structure given
above, the position of the fourth methoxyl group still being in doubt. The p_x0002_toluensulphonyl chloride readily forms the anhydro derivative when heated. The
latter forms colourless crystals which melt at l29-l32°C.
Occurrence
A highly methylated aconitine alkaloid, delsoline occurs in the basic extract of Delphinium
ajacis, better known as Consolida ambigua.
