D-Gluconic acid, 6-ester with N,N-dimethylglycine, calcium salt (2:1) is a mineral supplement that is sometimes referred to as Vitamin B15 although it is not a true vitamin. Studies suggest that it stimulates protein synthesis and normalizes the amino acid level in the liv ers of rats administered orally for 30 days but is less effective over an 8-month period. Studies also suggest that it can be used in the treatment of skin and heart conditions as well as neurological disorders but the results are not conclusive.
