Beschreibung
An alkaloid recently isolated from the roots of Cyphomandra betacea Sendt., the base has been shown to have the structure of N:N-Bis-(4-dimethylaminobutyl)-hexanamide. The alkaloid is characterized as the dipicrate which forms needles from EtOH, m.p. l49-l50°C. Acid hydrolysis with 8N Hel gives solamine and caproic acid.
