Temafloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that acts as a DNA topoisomerase inhibitor. It has broad antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, such as
S. pneumoniae,
M. hominis, and anaerobic bacteria, including
B. fragilis.

Temafloxacin is an antimicrobial quinolone drug.

Temafloxacin, a quinolone antimicrobial, was introduced in 1991.
Shortly afterwards, its use became associated with severe adverse effects,
including hypoglycaemia, haemolytic anaemia, renal failure, hepatitis and
anaphylactic reactions. This led to its worldwide withdrawal by the manufacturer.
