(a) Benzaldehyde (1 Moore) and 2-Hydroxy-3-methylbenzoic acid (2 Moore) in sulfuric acid solution condensation, sulfonation, then use 4-Amino-5-hydroxynaphthalene-1-sulfonic acid oxidation, again with p-Methylanilinecondensation, then use fuming sulfuric acid sulfonating; (b) p-Chlorobenzaldehydecondensation, oxidation, its product again and p-Methylaniline with Triethylamine hydrochloride reaction, then use fuming sulfuric acid sulfonate.
Properties and Applications
purple. Soluble in water for purple. In concentrated sulfuric acid for wine red, after dilution is purple.
