Beschreibung

This minor alkaloid occurs in the corms and seeds of Colchicum autumnale, Gloriosa virescens and Littoria modesta. It is laevorotatory having a specific rotation of [α]_D - 307° (CHCI3). It may be separated from the numerous accompanying bases by column and thin layer chromatography.
