These are important components with chemopreventive and therapeutic propertiesthat work against cancer. Polyphenol compounds include flavonoids, tannins, curcumin,stilbene resveratrol, and gallocatechins; these are all considered to be anticancer compounds, inducing apoptosis in various cancer cell lines (Greenwelland Rahman 2015).
