Polyuridinic acid (Poly U) Chemische Eigenschaften,Einsatz,Produktion Methoden
Chemische Eigenschaften
Polyuridinic acid is a white or off-white powder synthesised via the polymerisation of UDP as substrate, catalysed by immobilised PNPase. It is soluble in water but insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and diethyl ether. It forms a poly A:U double helix structure with poly A.
Verwenden
Polyuridinic acid (Poly U) is a homopolymer of uridine, commonly employed as a single-stranded RNA model compound for comparison with other ssRNA model oligonucleotides such as Poly(I) and Poly(C). This facilitates the investigation of processes regulated by ssRNA, including Toll-like receptor modulation. Poly(U) has been demonstrated as an effective agonist for TLR7. Biochemical research Abbreviation: poly U. A synthetic polynucleotide composed solely of uridine monophosphate residues. Synthesised from UDP via polynucleotide phosphorylase. Does not occur naturally. M.W. Nirenberg, J.H. Mathae, S. Ochoa et al. (1961) initially employed poly(U) as artificial mRNA. Successful biosynthesis of poly(phenylalanine) in E. coli cell-free systems elucidated that UUU encodes phenylalanine. This marked the commencement of genetic code decipherment.
