Allgemeine Beschreibung
Orcein is a weakly acidic orange-red fluorochrome and is mainly required for the staining of elastic tissue. It is not specific for chromatin staining, however, in acidic solutions it works as a basic dye and stains basophilic chromosomes purple red.
