Russian workers have recently carried out a further chemical survey of the bases present in Haplophyllum perforatum from which several alkaloids have been isolated in the past. This derivative of evoxine (q.v.) has recently been characterized and the structure established by ultraviolet, NMR and mass spectrometry.
