Beschreibung
This alkaloid occurs in Stephania hernandifolia Walp. It is obtained as an
amorphous white pwoder which forms a crystalline adduct with CHCI3 having
m.p. 227-227.5°C. The alkaloid is optically active with a specific rotation of
[α]
D - 25° (c 2.0, EtOH) and yields a diacetate as colourless crystals from
C6H6-Et 20 with m.p. 171-171.5°C. The structure has been elucidated from
chemical and spectroscopic analysis.
