Beschreibung

This alkaloid has been obtained from Strychnos splendens Gigl. It yields colour_x0002_less crystals from C6H6 and has a specific rotation of [α]²²₅₇₈+ 122° (CHCI3). The ultraviolet spectrum has two absorption maxima at 250 and 277 mil. The structure has been established primarily from the mass spectrum fragmentation pattern.
