Furan, 2,5-bis[(trimethylsilyl)oxy]- is readily prepared by the reaction of Succinic Anhydride, Triethylamine, Zinc  Chloride, and Chlorotrimethylsilane in MeCN (eq 1). It can also be prepared in 66% yield using succinic  anhydride, Trimethylsilyl Trifluoromethanesulfonate and triethylamine.
