ISOAMYL NITRATE Chemical Properties,Uses,Production
Aroma
Ethereal-fruity, vinous odor with a peculiar musty undertone, rather typical of many alkyl nitrates. Sweet taste in high dilution. Has been used in pharmaceutical preparations, but is probably not used any longer in perfume or flavor industries.
Production Methods
Isoamyl nitrate can be produced from iso-Amyl alcohol and Nitric acid in the presence of urea to control the formation of HNO2.
