Sucrose benzoate Chemical Properties,Uses,Production
Description
Sucrose benzoate is used as a synthetic chemical raw material, coating and cosmetic raw material, and as a high-performance rate-modifying additive for high-performance liquid crystal display film optical materials, holographic photosensitive materials, electronic image recording originals, as well as ribbons for thermal transfer and magnetic thermal transfer, electrostatic spraying toner and thermal printing inks.

Application
Sucrose benzoate is a common raw material in chemical production. It can be used as a plasticizer for solid coatings, thermosetting powder coatings and thermal printing toners, and can also be used as a pigment carrier for liquid inks.
Synthesis
In a 250 ml conical flask, add 40.0 g (116.8 mmol) of sucrose, 60 ml of water, 48% sodium hydroxide and 20 g of aqueous sodium hydroxide solution. 20g of aqueous sodium hydroxide solution, and dissolve with stirring at 35~40 to obtain a light yellow transparent aqueous solution of sodium sucrose alcohol, and transfer it to a constant-pressure dropping funnel for use. In a 500 ml four-necked flask equipped with an ice bath, a stirrer, a thermometer and a constant-pressure dropping funnel, add to a 500 ml four-necked flask. In a 500 ml four-necked flask, 57.9 g (412.1 mmol) of benzoyl chloride was added, and the temperature of the material was controlled at 5~10C, . The above aqueous solution of sodium sucralose was added dropwise. As the reaction proceeded, the material was gradually thickened, and 180 ml of toluene was added slowly to reduce the viscosity; the aqueous solution of sodium sucralose was added dropwise for about 30 min, and then in a constant-pressure dropping Then add 16g of 48% sodium hydroxide aqueous solution into the funnel at constant pressure, add 48% sodium hydroxide aqueous solution dropwise into the reaction system. Liquid, at the same time control the material temperature 5 ~ 10 , PH8 ~ 11, add the end, the material slowly warmed to 20 ~ 25 , Holding reaction for 2 hours. After holding reaction, heat up to 65~70, separate the water layer, organic layer washed to neutral, each time with 20ml of water, water washing 4 times (washing water for the next batch of synthesis or water washing). Organic Layer distillation recovery of toluene poured into a stainless steel tray while hot, after cooling to obtain a transparent glassy solid sucrose benzene Formate 79.1 g, measured average degree of substitution 3.5, sucrose utilization of 95.8%, 95.1% utilization of acyl chloride.
