(+)-Glaucarubinone is a potent AP-1 (activator protein-1) inhibitor with an EC50 value of 0.13 μM. (+)-Glaucarubinone shows noncytotoxic[1].
Definition
ChEBI: Glaucarubinone is a quassinoid with formula C25H34O10. It is a natural product isolated from several plant species and exhibits anti-cancer and anti-malarial properties. It has a role as a geroprotector, a plant metabolite, an antineoplastic agent and an antimalarial. It is a carboxylic ester, a quassinoid, an organic heteropentacyclic compound, a tetrol, a secondary alpha-hydroxy ketone and a tertiary alpha-hydroxy ketone.
