Uses
The material is produced by spray-drying mixtures of boric acid and borax. Its greater water solubility gives it advantages in some applications over the tetraborates. Its uses include applications as pesticides, as flame retardants, and as an agricultural micronutrient.

Produced synthetically for commerical use often via combining boric acid, a sodium-containing chemical product, water and an impurity removal agent in a reactor
