A laevorotatory base found in Kopsia longij7ora, the alkaloid forms colourless crystals from MeOH or EtOH and has [α]²³_D - 46.4° (c 1.01, CHC13 ). It may be characterized as the crystalline perchlorate, m.p. 242-3°C and the methiodide, m.p. 236°C (dec.).
