Description

ARAP2, also known as centaurin-d-1, is a protein with ARF-GAP, RHO-GAP, ankyrin repeat, RAS-associating, and pleckstrin homology domains. A phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate (PtdIns-(3,4,5)-P3)-dependent GTPase-activating protein, ARAP2, binds to RhoA-GTP, but lacks the predicted catalytic arginine in the RHO-GAP domain and does not have RHO-GAP activity. It modulates actin cytoskeleton remodeling by regulating ARF and RHO family members. Usually ARAP2 is activated by PtdIns-(3,4,5)-P3 binding and can be activated by PtdIns-(3,4)-P2 binding, although with lower efficiency. ARAP2 associates with focal adhesions and functions downstream of RhoA to regulate focal adhesion dynamics. It is usually detected in brain, thymus, lymph node, thyroid, spinal cord, trachea, heart, skeletal muscle, spleen, kidney, liver, placenta, lung, and peripheral blood leukocytes.WARNING This product is not for human or veterinary use.
