Description
Ferrostatin-1 inhibits a specific type of non-apoptotic, iron-dependent, oxidative cell death termed ferroptosis (IC50 = 60 nM), which is induced by the oncogenic Ras-selective compound, erastin . Ferrostatin-1 prevents ferroptosis in cancer cells as well as glutamate-induced cell death in organotypic rat brain slices. Ferrostatin-1 also inhibits cell death in models of Huntington’s disease, periventricular leukomalacia, and kidney dysfunction where it has been found to prevent the accumulation of cytosolic and lipid reactive oxygen species.More related product prices
