Stachyose, a naturally occurring four-sugar compound, is a remarkable promoter of bifidobacteria and other bacteria proliferation as a functional oligosaccharide. It is a pure white powder with a slightly sweet flavor, offering 22% of the sweetness of sucrose. Stachyose boasts a pure taste without any unpleasant flavors or odors.

Stachyose plays a significant role in promoting the proliferation of beneficial bacteria like Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus, and others in the human gastrointestinal tract.
