| | methyl morpholine-2-carboxylate hydrochloride Usage And Synthesis |
| Uses | Methyl Morpholine-2-carboxylate Hydrochloride is used as a preparation of chromen-4-one derivative for the treatment of hepatitis B virus infection. | | Synthesis | The general procedure for the synthesis of methyl morpholine-2-carboxylate hydrochloride from methyl N-Boc-2-morpholinecarboxylate was as follows: to a solution of 1,4-dioxane (1.0 mL) containing methyl 4-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-2-morpholinecarboxylate (232 mg, 0.95 mmol) was added a solution of 1,4-dioxane (1.18 mL) with 4 M hydrochloric acid. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 15 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the solvent was removed by distillation under reduced pressure to afford methyl morpholine-2-carboxylate hydrochloride (232 mg, 0.95 mmol, quantitative yield). The structure of the product was confirmed by 1H NMR (CDCl3) with the following chemical shifts: δ 3.03-3.19 (2H, m), 3.26-3.45 (2H, m), 3.55-3.69 (1H, m), 3.82 (3H, s), 4.03-4.22 (2H, m), 4.58-4.69 (1H, m). | | References | [1] Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry, 2012, vol. 20, # 9, p. 3072 - 3093 |
