| Uses | Penicillin-Streptomycin has been used for the prevention and elimination of bacterial contaminants in cell culture. | | General Description | Penicillin (Penicillin G) inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting peptidoglycan synthesis. Streptomycin belongs to the family of aminoglycoside antibiotics and inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting protein synthesis. | | Biological Activity | Penicillins can prevent the synthesis of bacterial cell wall. This antibiotic can be used in the treatment of skin and urinary tract infections, upper and lower respiratory infections, and endocarditis.
