1-Propoxy-2-propanol is mainly used in detergents. Its performance is similar to that of ethylene glycol butyl ether, but its odor toxicity is lower than the former, so it can be used instead of ethylene glycol butyl ether. This product's rapid evaporation and Chemicalbook's excellent solubility of organic stains make it useful in household and industrial cleaners, degreasers, metal cleaners, hard surface cleaners, and is an excellent solvent for glass cleaners and general purpose cleaners.
