Appearance:
White to light yellow crystalline powder, odorless, bitter taste. Soluble in water, methanol, ethanol and glycerol, slightly soluble in chloroform, ether; insoluble in Acetone. It is stable under acid condition and easy to decompose and fail under alkaline condition.
Application:
It is suitable for the treatment of Ascaris, hookworm and Brugia Malayi. It is also suitable for the treatment of animal ascaris and hookworm. It's an anthelmintic. Levamisole is about twice as active as racemates and has lower toxicity and side effects. The levamisole paralyzes the worm's muscles, which it then excretes in its feces. Mainly used for anti-ascaris and anti-hookworm.
