Introduction: taurolodine is a new antibacterial drug found in Europe, which is used to prevent bacteremia in patients with multiple catheter-related bloodstream infections. Tauroprodine has been proved to be an effective and safe antibiotic to prevent the recurrence of catheter-related bloodstream infection. Tauroprodine [bis (1,1-dioxo-4h-1,2,4-thiadiazine) methane] is a broad-spectrum antibacterial, antifungal and anti endotoxin drug. It is used for peritonitis (including anaerobic and purulent peritonitis) and pleural empyema.
