Dilauroyl peroxide is mainly used as initiator of free radical polymerization reaction, and can also be used as polyester curing agent, rubber crosslinking agent, foaming agent, bleaching agent, desiccant, etc.

Also used in the food industry and grease production as bleaching agent.
