Stability
1. For white or light yellow crystals, the color will turn yellow when exposed to light and gradually darken. Odorless, tasteless, low toxicity, flammable.
2. Solubility in the following solvents at room temperature: 25% methanol, 25% to 26% ethanol, 30% isopropanol, 30% mineral oil, 40% acetone, 50% petroleum ether, 40% benzene, lard (40%) ～50℃) 40%～50%, corn oil and soybean oil 40%～50%. It is insoluble in water, 10% sodium hydroxide solution, glycerin and propylene glycol.
3. It is quite stable to heat and has the sublimation characteristic of monophenol type. The principle of BHT's antioxidant effect is the same as that of BHA. Generally, it is used in combination with BHA, and citric acid or other organic acids are used as synergists.
4. Exist in flue-cured tobacco leaves, burley tobacco leaves, oriental tobacco leaves and smoke.
