It acts on the hypothalamus and pituitary axis to reduce the release of gonadotropin, and the peak before ovulation disappears, thus inhibiting ovulation. Animal experiments show that it can inhibit the secretion of progesterone, and also has the effect of progesterone on endometrium, inactivating and degenerating the cells of endometrium and ectopic lesions, resulting in the atrophy of ectopic lesions.
