4-Cyano-1-cyclohexene is an organic compound that belongs to the group of multilayer polymers. It is a liquid phase polymerization inhibitor, which is used in copolymerization reactions as a reaction solution. 4-Cyano-1-cyclohexene can be synthesized by postulating a synthetic pathway for its production from cyclic ketones and dipoles. 4-Cyano-1-cyclohexene has been shown to inhibit the polymerization of acrylonitrile in gel permeation chromatography experiments, while it does not inhibit the polymerization of benzonitrile. The synthesis of 4-cyano-1 - cyclohexene requires high temperatures, halides, and acrylonitrile.
