9-fluorenone is an important organic synthesis intermediate, which can be used to manufacture a variety of fine chemicals, mainly used in the synthesis of polymer materials, bisphenol fluorene, fluorenyl benzoxazine resin, acrylic resin, polyester, polycarbonate and epoxy resin modifier. In the laboratory, fluorene was used as raw material, dimethyl sulfoxide as solvent, sodium hydroxide Chemicalbook as catalyst, oxygen as oxidant, and tower packing reactor was used to carry out oxidation reaction. The reaction liquid was cooled and filtered to obtain 93% crude fluorene, and the filtrate was distilled to recover 94% solvent and part of crude fluorene. The yellow sheet fluorenone with purity of more than 99.8% can be obtained by refining the crude fluorenone by directional crystallization.
