Ammonium fluoride is an inorganic compound. It is an ionic compound and a white crystalline powder. It is easily deliquescent, soluble in water and methanol, slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in acetone.
It is mainly used as glass etchant, chemical polishing agent for metal surface, disinfectant for brewing, analytical reagent, preservative, masking agent, mordant for fiber. It is also used for extracting rare elements, wood preservation, engraving glass, precipitant for complex titration of aluminum, extracting rare elements, spot analysis of zirconium, etc.
