| Description | Amphotericin B methyl ester is a methylated derivative of the polyene antibiotic amphotericin B, belonging to cholesterol-binding compounds with potent antifungal activity. It also interferes with HIV-1 viral particle production and blocks HIV-1 replication in vivo. |
| In vitro | Methods: In vitro experiments were conducted to explore the regulatory effect of Amphotericin B methyl ester on HIV-1 viral particle production, and its influences on the plasma membrane binding, lipid raft localization and multimerization process of Gag protein were detected. Results: Amphotericin B methyl ester could effectively inhibit the production of HIV-1 viral particles, while it did not significantly interfere with the membrane binding, lipid raft enrichment and multimerization progression of Gag protein [1]. |
