Bromhexine hydrochloride is an organic compound that can directly act on the bronchial glands to promote the release of lysosomes from mucus secreting cells, differentiate and lyse the mucopolysaccharide fibers in sputum; it can also inhibit the mucous glands and goblet cells. The synthesis of acid glycoprotein makes it secrete low-viscosity small molecule glycoprotein, thereby reducing the viscosity of sputum and making it easier to cough up.
