Cerium dioxide (chemical formula: CeO2) is the most stable oxide of the rare earth element cerium. It is a light yellow solid at room temperature, and the yellow color deepens when heated.

Usage:

It is used as a decolorizing agent and clarifying agent in the glass (color TV glass) industry. In the chemical industry, it is used in the preparation of automobile exhaust purification catalyst, polyvinyl chloride plastic stabilizer, and also used in the synthesis of cerium naphthoate as paint drier. In the metallurgical industry, it is used as the nodulator of ductile iron to smelt cerium ferrosilicon alloy, and can also be used as the raw material for smelting cerium-rich rare earth ferrosilicon alloy. Used as an additive in electroplating technology.
