Introduction:

Plastics and resins: Used in the production of cyanamide resins (e.g. melamine), which are widely used in the manufacture of heat-resistant plastics, paints and glues.
Agriculture: Used as a component of nitrogen fertilizers, especially in controlled nitrogen release fertilizers, to help increase crop yields and reduce nitrogen loss.
Chemical Intermediates: Used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other chemicals (e.g. melamine, cyanate).
