Ferrous sulfate heptahydrate commonly known as alum, is a blue-green crystal or particles, mainly used for iron fertilizer, pesticides, pigments, medicine, etc., in addition to chromatographic analysis reagents. It is a by-product 

of the sulfuric acid process in the production of a rare metal product. The product is a light green or yellowish-green crystalline solid.

Application

1. As a reducing agent: ferrous sulfate is a strong reducing agent, can be the water content of the electroplating plant chromium wastewater hexavalent chromium reduction into trivalent chromium.

2. As a flocculant: ferrous sulfate is widely used as a flocculant, it has the following advantages as a flocculant: Sedimentation speed, large granular sludge, the sludge volume small and compact, except for the color effect is good, very suitable for as a textile wastewater, printing and dyeing, washing processing), non-toxic and beneficial organisms (very suitable for use in the subsequent biochemical treatment process of wastewater treatment system), without changing the original technology, and the price is low, as a flocculant, Ferrous sulfate can replace polymeric aluminum, basic aluminum chloride, polymeric iron, aluminum sulfate and so on. Dyeing, electroplating and other wastewater treatment worthy of the product.

3. As a precipitator: ferrous sulfate and sulfide, phosphate and other precipitation, so as to remove sulfide, phosphate, etc., for example, with ferrous sulfate treatment of printing and dyeing plant sulfur wastewater.
