Application:
Mannan is a colorless, non-toxic, odorless polysaccharide that widely exists in nature and is an economical and efficient natural food preservative. Spraying, dipping or coating 0.05% to 1% mannan aqueous solution on the surface of fresh food or incorporated into some processed foods can significantly extend the shelf life of food. It can be used to store and preserve fruits, vegetables, soy products, eggs, beans and other foods. For example, the surface of untreated fresh strawberries loses luster after 2 days of storage, and begins to become moldy on 3 days. However, fresh strawberries are soaked in 0.05% mannan aqueous solution for 10 seconds, taken out and air-dried. After 1 week of storage, only the skin loses luster. , no mold has appeared in 3 weeks.
