Lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF6) is a white crystalline or powder that is easily soluble in water and can be dissolved in low concentrations of organic solvents such as methanol, ethanol, and carbonate. Its melting point is 200 ℃ and its relative density is 1.50 g/cm3. Lithium hexafluorophosphate is an important component of the electrolyte, accounting for approximately 43% of the total cost of the electrolyte. Compared with electrolytes such as LiBF4, LiAsF6, and LiClO4, lithium hexafluorophosphate has advantages in solubility, conductivity, safety, and environmental friendliness in organic solvents, making it the most widely used lithium salt at present.
