| In vitro | Methods: Vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) were used as the research object and treated with lysine monohydrate. Results: Lysine monohydrate decreased plasma iPTH levels and increased plasma concentrations of alanine, proline, arginine and homoarginine, thereby inhibiting apoptosis and mineral deposition in VSMCs [1]. |
| In vivo | Methods: Adenine-induced rats were used as the research model and orally administered (p.o.) 40 μg/kg of Lysine monohydrate. Results: This treatment ameliorated arterial calcification in adenine-treated rats and protected their femurs against osteoporotic lesions [1]. Methods: Male mice were used as the research model and administered 10 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg of Lysine monohydrate by gavage (i.g.) and oral administration (p.o.), respectively. Results: This treatment inhibited pancreatic tissue damage in mice [2]. |
